Yes, RAW uploads are fully supported. Plotpane accepts the native raw formats from all major camera brands — CR2 and CR3 from Canon, NEF from Nikon, ARW from Sony, RAF from Fujifilm, ORF from Olympus, PEF from Pentax, and the universal DNG. You can drop the raw straight out of the card without pre-converting in Lightroom.
Using RAW usually gives a cleaner final result than JPEG, especially for interiors with bright windows and dim corners, because we have more dynamic range to pull from in the highlights and shadows. The tradeoff is file size: raws are 20–60MB each, so batch uploads of a full shoot will take longer on slow connections.
Supported raw formats
- Canon: CR2, CR3, CRW
- Nikon: NEF, NRW
