Inside the Compass listing asset library: 1000 tiles, Private Exclusive, Coming Soon
The Compass listing photo workflow has three stops before a photo ever reaches Zillow. First, the listing asset library — the media tab agents at Compass upload to — expects clean full-resolution JPEG at sRGB with EXIF preserved so media-ops can verify the capture — that is the Compass spec, and it is worth being straight about where an AI render cannot meet it, because any render is a fresh encode at about 2.4K carrying no original camera EXIF, so hold on to the untouched original for anyone who asks how the frame was captured. Second, Compass 1000 (the agent-homepage showcase tile) crops the hero to a landscape tile that demands a tight, editorial frame with no AI halo, no sky banding, no over-sharpening. Third, the Private Exclusive pre-market window — per Compass's own Private Exclusives page, photos and floorplans are shared inside a 340,000-agent network before the listing ever touches the MLS, which means the edit has to be final-grade on day one (no placeholder photos, no 'we'll update it at MLS launch').
